Hangin out in Kelowna

We have had such a wonderful time with these girls ❤️! What a treat to meet Ruby and see what a big girl Charlie has become. Stories, snuggles, giggles and lots of hugs. It was such a treat to hang out and relax together. Thanks to Bryan and Lisa for their generous hospitality and for not flinching in the face of our dietary challenges.

North Van with AS and UB!

Welcomed to 2665 Kilmarnock by this Inukshuk, Aunt Sandy and Uncle Bob treated us to a delicious lunch of homemade chicken soup. After lunch, we headed off on a long hike through Lynn Canyon. It is as amazingly beautiful as we remembered.

After the hike, we came back for tea in the backyard. Then, inspired by memories from our visit 7 years ago, Cameron and Mara headed off to hike the trail behind AS and UB’s house. Jamie and Uncle Bob joined them in their adventure.

Rob and Richelle joined us for dinner. It was wonderful to catch up! And in comparing this photo to the one taken during our last visit, some of us haven’t changed a bit 😜.

Driving through ALL the weather

We gave our tired muscles a rest today, and hit the road bound for Vancouver. It was a drizzly morning in Kelowna when we left Bryan and Lisa’s, and that wet weather followed us all the way to Vancouver. As we drove the Coquihalla through the Rockies, we had rain, fog, slush, snow and lots of trucks!

At long last, we arrived in Vancouver. We had a fun evening exploring Gastown and downtown Vancouver. Tomorrow, we are off to North Van to see Aunt Sandy and Uncle Bob.

Day 2 at Big White

Today, Lisa was our mountain guide. We skied a GOLD run – a lovely route down the mountain named after Kelsey Serwa, gold medalist at the recent Olympics.

Bryan, Charlie and Ruby joined us around lunchtime. Ruby hung out with Auntie Di in the lodge while Charlie got to show her cousins her new ski skills.

Today, we ski the mountain down, ya!

What a beautiful day to ski Big White! Blue skies and the perfect temperature. Bryan was our tour guide on the mountain today. We skied all morning, enjoyed lunch on a slope side patio (eating outside and risking a sun burn!!), and then got back up the mountain and skied some more until our legs gave out. Amazing fun! At the end of the day, we all had sore muscles and big smiles. Can’t wait to come back tomorrow!
